Charcoal Grills

A charcoal grill is a type of outdoor cooking appliance that uses charcoal as a fuel source to cook food.  Charcoal grills typically consist of a metal cooking grate positioned over a charcoal pan or bed, which is lit with a match or lighter fluid.  The heat from the burning charcoal then radiates up to the food, which is placed on the grate for cooking.

Charcoal grills offer several advantages over other types of outdoor cooking appliances:

  • UNIQUE FLAVOR:  They are known for their ability to create a unique, smoky flavor in food that cannot be replicated with other types of grills.
  • PORTABLE:  Charcoal grills are portable and do not require an external power source, making them perfect for camping trips, picnics, and other outdoor activities.

There are different types of charcoal grills, including kettle grills, barrel grills, and ceramic grills:

  • KETTLE GRILLS:   The most common type of charcoal grill, and are characterized by their round, bowl-shaped design.
  • BARREL GRILLS:  These grills are larger and often have a more complex design, allowing for smoking as well as grilling.
  • CERAMIC GRILLS Also known as kamado grills, are designed to retain heat and are often used for slow-cooking and smoking.
