Experience brutal, uncompromised tube saturation at bedroom-friendly volumes with the Randall RD5H 1 Channel 5 Watt Guitar Head.
Purpose-built for home studios, low-volume practice sessions, and professional desktop recording, this ultra-compact lunchbox amp head packs the lethal high-gain architecture of Randall's flagship rigs into a portable, 5-watt frame. Get the roaring, power-amp compression of a dimed stack without waking the neighbors.
Pure Tube Firepower & 3-Way Tone Stack Shift
Under the hood, the RD5H is driven by a premium 12AX7 preamp tube and a single 6V6 power valve. This classic signal path serves up touch-sensitive, rich high-gain textures that track technical riffs with surgical precision. While keeping the layout simple with dedicated Gain, Tone, and Master Volume dials, the RD5H features an integrated 3-way Tone Stack Shift switch. This mid-contour toggle lets you reshape the amplifier's voicing instantly—allowing you to flick between scooped modern metal chunk, aggressive mid-forward thrash, or open, classic hard-rock grind.
Silent Recording Capability with an Onboard Dummy Load
The ultimate tool for nocturnal songwriters and apartment dwellers, the RD5H features an integrated internal dummy load for completely silent operation. Paired with a speaker-emulated XLR direct output, you can safely run the amplifier head completely disconnected from a speaker cabinet. Send a direct, mix-ready valve feed straight into your studio's audio interface or mixing console while keeping your space perfectly quiet.
Class-A Routing & Pro Utility
Your time-based and modulation effects remain crystal-clear thanks to a premium, rear-panel Class-A discrete instrument-level FX loop. An onboard ground-lift switch on the XLR direct line also ensures that annoying hums and ground loops are entirely eliminated from your recording chains.
