It works for my grandson
After plowing through the assembly, which took me about three hours, I was able to have this ready for use by our grandchildren in the large sand pile in the back yard. I am very handy with tools and with assembly instructions, but I found the instructions confusing in some cases as there are no written directions. That said, using all photos in place of text is useful if the assembly is being completed by someone who is unfamiliar with the language used in the instructions. As I mentioned, all steps are pictorial, and in some cases the clarity from the photos was lacking (by this I mean that the picture was ambiguous as to which hole a part was being inserted into). There were also steps pictured in the instructions which were unnecessary since some component parts came pre-assemble. I was able to figure out the ambiguities by looking at the product photos on the packaging, but that wouldn’t be needed if a few additional ‘step photos’ were added. It would also be helpful if all of the various sets of component instructions were put in order (instead each set of instructions were a stand alone sheet packaged with the pieces used in that sub-assembly). As such, it wasn’t clear if one sub-assembly needed to be assembled before or after another. As it turned out, that probably didn’t matter too much, but it did slow me down a bit.
Thanks for your great review Keith, and for your in-depth explanation of the instructions! We always appreciate any insight on the product. We're so glad that your grandchildren love the Kettler CAT Ride-On Toy. Hope they continue to enjoy it for years to come!
